The meteorite is sourced from Campo De Cielo. The Campo del Cielo refers to a group of iron meteorites that are found in an area of the same name about 1000 km northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The field of impact craters covers an area of 3 km X 20 km and the site contains at least 26 craters, the largest measuring 115 m X 91 m. The craters' age is estimated as 4000 to 5000 years old.
The necklace is hung from a delicate, solid sterling silver chain that is adjustable from 16 to 18 inches.
